 JUNK FOOD BANNED AT SCHOOL

Disagree: I believe that we can choose what we have for lunch. 

I think we should be able to have some lollies.

I think we should be able to have treats so long as you have healthy food too.

As a matter of fact we should be able to have treats because chocolate can increase brain power so you can think faster.

I think we should be able to have treats because black bubble gum can make you focus more so you do more work

I'm sure you will all agree 

UMBRELLA

 Today I have been working on a piece of writing called Umbrella        UMBRELLA

Early one stormy morning, the door to Miss Elem’s Home For Children creaked open. The girl with the  bright yellow umbrella nervously creeped through the door to find an orphanage before finding a Home for her Umbrella. not wanting to be seen, Jimbob quickly whipped his head around the door frame. Standing off to the side the girl silently observed as children searched in the box for hidden treasures. The girl smiled as she watched the little boy flying around the room like an astronaut. Her smile quickly faded as she looked back at the umbrella stand and all she saw was some puddles. Her beloved umbrella had vanished out of thin air.

what did you think of my story?

Margaret Mahy

 I have been to Margaret Mahy a few times now. 

This is my experience. It is quite a big park with lots of fun places to go and see. I really like the water bit where you can shut off the water. There are fun trampolines to jump on. I like the big slides too. The sand pit is good, and there are lots of Margaret Mahy words written on the ground. I love the big spider web. There are lots of big trees around the park which help you breathe easily, so you don't get too puffed when you're running. I sometimes like going with my sister. My grandparents like going as there are lots of places to sit while we have fun. When we went after lockdown it was annoying because we had to queue and sign in. 

I like feeding the eels in the rivers around Christchurch. They like ham and kranskys. I use some string  with a weight on and Mum helps me tie the meat on it. I like seeing the little eels, sometimes the big ones scare me if they get too close.

Sentence Expansion

 We are learning to expand our sentences with detail.

Oscar cried.

When: Yesterday

Where: in the corner

Why: John was being mean to him

Yesterday,  Oscar cried  in the corner because John was being real mean to him. 

They had an argument.

When: lunchtime

Where: in the locker room

Why: because Mia was saying mean things.

At lunchtime Eli and Mia had an argument in the locker room because Mia was saying mean things.

yesterday Oscar cried because john was being real mean to him so Oscar went and cried in the corner 

At lunchtime Eli and Mia had an argument because Mia kept saying that Eli is a fat nerd and that he still had bedtime stories but he didn't. And that's why Eli felt sad and so he ran off to cry in his locker. 

How to Write a Good Quality Blog Post

 This week we have been learning about how to make a  good quality blog post. I made a slide about the important parts of a quality blog post. Firstly it is important to have a catchy title and then a introduction, 2 or 3 sentences about my learning. Lastly you need to include a reflection with a quality question. It is important to have a question to make the reader think about what was written.  I enjoyed making my slide and presenting it nicely.
